Families with young children have just a few yards to go to have fun in the fresh air with their babies : walks, a lake for their little sail boats or a puppet theater just waiting for them. Your children can play freely in the garden paths, buy hoops and buckets at the refreshment stalls, eat ice creams and fairy floss and above all, play games in the park. Without forgetting the merry go round, pedal cars, pony rides and swings. At the same time, teenagers are perfectly at home in this “young” quarter : shopping, book shops and cinemas are all on the program.
The hotel is just a short thirty yards from the perfectly delicious Luxembourg gardens.
The hotel is situated in a typically Parisian freestone building and completely air-conditioned. It offers 30 recently renovated rooms with contemporary decoration. The cream furniture, inspired by “Art nouveau” is pure, contributing to an atmosphere of serenity.
Your room looks out over one of two streets, the rue Gay-Lussac, particularly animated, and a small much quieter street, the rue R. Collard.
People come from all over the world to make the most of the lively Latin Quarter around the Boulevard Saint-Michel ; sound proofed windows protect you from the noise but you don’t miss out on the Parisian experience.
Life in Paris vibrates and is often tiring ; your room has comfortable mattresses. You are guaranteed a good night’s sleep : bed bases and mattresses were entirely renewed over the course of these last two years.
It’s always such a pleasure to choose the fabrics and the tints which make the rooms so charming. Several of them have just been redone. I was very careful to harmonize the shades of color. For me it was the moment to imagine our clients comfortably installed in an agreeable and spruce context.
I like yellow tones, pinks and blues. So it was these tints that I used when choosing the shades to decorate your room.
The color (green !) of the carpet evokes in me the Luxembourg gardens, nature so close to the hotel and so rare in Paris.
Bonus :
Some of the rooms offer a view of the Luxembourg gardens
From others, if you take a moment to go out onto the balcony, you’ll notice the Eiffel Tower, lit up like thousands of diamonds at night.
We have placed a questionnaire for your comments of satisfaction in your room ; please fill it out before leaving so as to permit us to improve our service.
Cleanliness/upkeep
“Some might find me a little bit of a maniac but, it’s true, I consider it very important that everything be very clean.”
There are boxes of sweets in the rooms
A song by Jacques Brel : “ I brought you sweets because flowers perish and well sweets are so delicious…!!!”
When they come to visit their friends, our American friends are often astonished by the limited size of Parisian homes. Our rooms are not only beautiful and spacious, they conform to the standards of the capital…just like your relatives in Paris !
Reception
The reception welcomes and looks after you 24 hours per day.
Do you need help, advice to organize your stay ? Stéphane, the director is clearly ready to assist you with outings. Don’t hesitate to ask him. He will be more than pleased to give you any information needed and to make reservations for shows and entertainment.
Are you looking for a good restaurant which answers to your gourmet tastes ? Patricia, the CEO loves to eat, it’s a family tradition. She’s the one you have to ask first of all. (Consult our list of recommended addresses too)
It would be a shame not to make the most of the joys and discoveries of “Paris By Night”. If you would like to go out without the children we will look for a perfectly capable baby sitter for you.
Tea and coffee are served at any moment of the day.
A safe is available at reception for your use.
Do you just need to take a break ? A huge cream leather divan and armchairs are ready waiting for you. This is a non-smoking area for the comfort of you and your children.
At reception we speak : French, English, Italian and Spanish.
Car Park
There is a paying car park available to you very close to the hotel. Access to it is safe.
Internet
You can have access to the Internet in your room.
A cyber point has also been installed on the ground floor of the hotel. You can buy a card at reception.
Breakfast
With its visible stonework the breakfast room is full of old world charm and welcomes you to a generous buffet breakfast with : tea, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, grapefruit, small kinds of bread, sliced bread, pastries, cereals, butter, jam, boiled eggs, an assortment of cheeses and ham.
If you prefer again to make the most of the intimacy of your room, a continental breakfast will be served to you in your room : tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bread, butter, jams and pastries.
Breakfast costs 12 euros per person.
Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am.
Lucie who takes care of you at breakfast has worked with Mrs. Patricia Andres, the CEO for 20 years.
It’s perhaps rather disagreeable to put up with cigarette smoke or a cigar at breakfast. This won’t happen at the Elysa-Luxembourg because the breakfast room is a non-smoking area.
“We will do our utmost to take into account your preferences. However, certain rooms are very much in request so we invite you to reserve in advance so as to avoid disappointment.”
We thank you for reserving.
Shopping
You are in the Latin Quarter : fashionable boutiques, souvenirs, book shops, cinema, bars and restaurants are abundant !
